Continuing our series of “Getting to Know” with our team, but we are now featuring members of the YEN Community and calling it Community Spotlight!
This week, we have Kayla.
Where do you live?
South Mississippi, where we still use dial-up internet.
Tell us a little bit about yourself…
I love organic gardening. It is hands down my favorite thing to do. It’s a hobby, an escape from reality, and a job for me. When you can roll all of those things together and make a living, you’ve got it made. There’s nothing more gratifying than a Corona on the back porch after long hard day of work.
What is your favorite part about YEN and the YEN Community?
We are all like minded, so supportive of each other, and we’re just the best damn bunch of folks ever!!!
Who inspires you?
I’ve never been one to look to others for inspiration. But… over the past 2 years Peter has given me the kicks in the ass at the exact times that I needed them 💪. He has pushed every single one of us to become the best versions of ourselves that we can possibly be. For that, I am forever grateful. Then there’s John. The complete opposite of Peter. His vlogs & blogs have both been an inspiration. I love that he shares the real stuff. Real freaking life. In all of its awkwardness!! I. Love. It!!! #fact If it weren’t for those two, I wouldn’t be the person I am today.
What was the best concert you ever attended?
Does it even count if I’ve only been to one?? I’m guessing you still want to know… this may come as a surprise to some. Drum roll please… Charlie Daniels & Lynyrd Skynyrd 😂. It was pretty freakin epic.
Where’s your favorite place in the world?
Appalachian Mountains. No doubt.
What’s the coolest thing you’re working on right now?
Geez Louise. I would have to say Blue Barn Farms. What doesn’t kill you makes you stronger right? 😂 Nah I enjoy the grind. I can see why people go through start up after start up. It’s addicting. The grind is real though.
What’s your secret talent that no one knows about?
I sing karaoke. In the car. Alone. 😂😂
What is your favorite family tradition?
Taking my son to pick out and cut our Christmas tree.
Tune in next week for another “Community Spotlight”!
