Product updates, powered by our amazing community!

The goal with our changelog is to capture all of the work that we’ve done to build YEN, starting from the very beginning. This way we have not only a record of our collective accomplishments so we can celebrate our progress but also to increase the level of transparency into the process as we build.

In this way, our changelog is a bit different than more traditional ones because we’re going to attempt to be a bit more specific with our notes (and definitely better than just a notice that reads: “We constantly improve our application to provide better service to our users.“…

We hope that you’ll see many of the changes, improvements, bug fixes, and feature updates that you’ll see are the very ones that YOU suggested! We love co-building with our community as it’s just a better way of building. Take a look below on our previous releases to see what we’ve been up to.

Thank you!

Iron Fox is here!

We were blown away by the reception to creating Community Groups with over 200 and counting! But with over 200 to sort through, things got unruly quick so we added in some improvements around navigating the Communities tab. Those updates include:

– Adding in a search bar to give the ability to search for names and headlines
– Created a new Favorites tab to store your most favoriteist Community Groups in one place for easy access

– Sorting options to sort the list by member count and creation date

– Filtering capabilities

What exactly can you filter?

Well now you can filter by Community Group type: Public and Private!

You’ll be able to create private groups where members will need to request to join to access all of the magic within. We’ve also added a quick invite copy button to share it even more quickly among the #YENiverse.

For every Community Group now, the owners and moderators will be able to get access to Charts and Graphs in the Admin Dashboard. The first iteration will give you member count in number and graph form. Let us know what other metrics you’d like to see!

Did you spin up a CG that you didn’t want? We’ve added in the ability to delete them now via the CG Settings.

A couple other goodies:
– reworked the posting modal window to be smaller in size rather than take up the entire screen
– added in the ability to insert pictures and graphs directly from the third column vs having to open the full screen window previously
– cleaned up some language around the system
– you can now drag and drop images into the create post modal window, like so:

Fourth and final hotfix for Platinum Dolphin.

🐛 – Fixed
Commenting in Feeds – Hotfix III took away the ability to comment/reply on a CP post in My Feed and via notifications window, this adds that back in. Our bad
Publishing Indicator Removed – removed the ‘Published in XXX’ message for posts within CP’s. It was redundant and we saved some room
Mobile Place Keeping – on mobile, if you were to click on a post and open the replies, it would take you back to the top of the feed if you were more than one level deep in replies. Now it should keep your place no matter how far down the rabbit hole you go
UI Updates – a couple UI updates on buttons and stuffs

Thanks to everyone to continue to test and build with us!
A bigger bug smashing session from our latest milestone release Platinum Dolphin.

– Users will now be able to delete posts and replies made in a Community Page. Thanks to @healyourself for bringing this up

– Adding in more information on notifications to know when they’re generated from a Community Page

– Ran a spell check across a number of screens and windows to update spelling and grammar

– Opening the replies on a post on mobile would take you to the top of the feed after you closed each one. Now it will go back to the point in the feed so you don’t lose your place. This should really help make @cryptomom and @ravenskydaisy‘s lives a lot better

– An issue with pagination of a full member list was fixed to scroll through the entire list

– We’ve added in a button to jump back to the top of a feed when you scroll down saving some scrolling fatigue

– We swapped out the Global and My Feed buttons on our mobile version. The default feed will now be My Feed so users will be able to follow along with activity in joined communities

– Mobile version didn’t show more than 10 replies in a thread, now it will show all

– When users select to hide their Total Value Transacted, the value will only be shown to the user on their profile page but we’ve added in a tooltip to confirm it’s only visible to the user

– The drag and drop area for picture uploads has been brought back to the initial post screen to minimize friction when uploading media

– When going to another user’s profile page and clicking on which Community Pages they’ve joined, it would navigate to the incorrect page listings. Thanks to @drums and @h for the tip

– The settings and clear all buttons for notifications on mobile didn’t navigate to anything. It does now thanks to @collin

– Users on iOS using Chrome lost the top line menu bar when chatting which would allow them to navigate out of the chat. We’ve made this stickier for them

– Clicking on a notification for a reply on a post from a Community Page should now take you to that post

– Users on iOS Chrome were not able to initiate a one on one chat. They’re now able to chat to their heart’s content

– Update the sign in modal to feel a little more ‘us.’ Good catch @collin

– A number of back end tech debt updates to make the system more stable over all and make future deployments easier and faster

– Removed all links to Zendesk and shut that account down. For all future support needs, contact @yensupport on YEN

Hope you guys are liking the new release thus far. Please keep the feedback coming. Next release scheduled for late October, code named Iron Fox!
A quick update to alert users around Community Page activity. Now all top line posts in CP’s will show up in a user’s My Feed if they’ve joined the CP.

Appreciate all of the feedback so far, please keep them coming!
The hottest of hot fixes from our Platinum Dolphin release. Upon deployment, the following bugs were identified and updated.

Autoposting in Community Pages With Media: when the CP settings were set to Automatically post submissions by members, those with media (images, links, charts) would not post
Notifications: users were not receiving notifications for activity or were losing them upon review
Cross Posting of Community Page Posts: posts from one CP were showing in others

Appreciate all of the feedback so far, please keep them coming!
