This Dilbert comic literally came into my inbox early this morning and I had to laugh… because it’s entirely true.
Building software is hard… and you realize that when you start putting things together you believe that you have 90% of the things figured out but in reality you only have about 10%.
And regardless of how long we’ve been product and software engineers… we still grossly underestimate the amount of time and effort required to put things together… even after 20 years+ of doing this!
All that to say, Peter and I have worked non-stop this past weekend putting things together to get the BETA ready for you fine folks… and as we got closer to the end of Saturday evening (or was it Sunday morning… .. .. …. … ..) we realized that the app wasn’t nearly as ready as we wanted it to be.
So, we’ve got a lot more work to do so that we can have the best possible experience for you and to maximize your feedback. <~~~ This is probably the most important thing.
That being said, we’re still moving forward quickly with the web / desktop / responsive version and here’s a sneak-peek of the mobile version:
Don’t worry, we’ll have both light and dark versions:
We’re getting there. Thanks for your patience and support!
If you have an iOS / iPhone and would like to help us BETA TEST CryptoYum, please send me privately your email address that you use for your iPhone (which might be the same email address as your iTunes or Apple account).
As you can see, CryptoYum has been approved by Apple for BETA testing!
If you’re a Cryptonaut-level supporter, I’ll be pinging you privately for emails to invite to Apple’s Test Flight (make sure you download it in preparation).
Yes, of course, this is iOS-only… for now. We are finalizing a web-version for everyone, which we believe will be fantastic in its own right… and an Android-build is on the horizon depending on demand and use!
Finally, Peter has been spending the last few weeks doing most of our unit testing and the UAT process (User Acceptance Testing) and he’s quite lonely… it’ll be good to have a few more folks in the hopper!
… so, we’ve shared that we’ve been actively working on the native iOS version of CryptoYum but what we haven’t shared as publicly is the fact that we’re building a fully-responsive web and mobile version for those that want to use our hyper-curated experience in other ways.
So, here’s the very first designs of the upcoming desktop version that we’re sharing with you fine folks first.
As always, please don’t share this publicly as it’s for Patreon-Only!
We are working on alternative looks, especially the <header> area, so, we’ll be back in a few days to get your feedback on what you feel will be the best experience.
As always… your financial support makes all of this possible…! We love building stuff for you all!
I can’t wait to get the next design iterations done so I can get your feedback… stay tuned!
